Following workshops held 14-18 December 2009, the next DLR and ESA/SNSB sponsored experiments have been selected for the upcoming stratospheric balloon campaigns.

DLR sponsored experiments:

  • AVIONIX (UAS Wilhelmshaven, Germany): Verification of the interaction between Medipix radiation detector and core avionics distributed computing system.
  • PERDAIX (Aachen University, Germany): Proton Electron Radiation Detector.
  • RETA (Christian-Albrechts University in Kiel, Germany): Radiation Exposure in The Atmosphere.

ESA/SNSB sponsored experiments:

  • CASS-E (Cranfield University, UK): Cranfield Astrobiological Stratospheric Sampling Experiment - demonstrating Planetary Protection and Contamination Control (PP&CC) protocols.
  • I-BATE (International Space University in Strasbourg, France): ISU-Balloon ATC Technology Experiment - proof of concept for space-based air traffic control with ADS-B receiver.
  • LAERTES (University of Montpellier 2, France): Characterization of the radiative environment at high altitude by measuring neutron flux.
  • SCOPE 2.0 (Warsaw University of Technology, Poland): Stabilized Camera Observation Platform Experiment - video camera stabilization and control system.
  • SCRAT (University of Padova, Italy): Spherical Compact Rechargeable Air Thruster - test of a low-thrust cold-gas actuator.
  • SpaceFish (Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain): Experimental evaluation of high-performance fish-shaped re-entry vehicle.
