Esrange Space Center

SSC, Esrange Space Center is located in northern Sweden, 45 km from the town of Kiruna at 67oN, 21oE. Located 200 km north of the Arctic Circle and surrounded by a vast wilderness, Esrange's geographic location is ideal for launching sounding rockets and balloons as well as communicating with satellites in polar orbit.

More than 500 sounding rockets and 550 stratospheric balloons have been launched from the Esrange Space Center, making it one of the world's leading launch facilities.
